After attempting to persue a career in several different fields (including chef, photographer and electronics engineer) Kristian finally found the career path that suited him - the motor trade. In May 2000 he started an appreniship at a small independant family run garage, and had completed level 3 City and Guilds in Light vehicle maintenance and repair at Chichester College by 2003. He then went to work for other garages where he picked up new skills and experiences. By 2004 Kristian had become disapointed with the general state of the motor industry with independant garages not having the skills or equipment to correctly diagnose and repair many faults, with the main dealer charging extortionate rates to fix these faults and with the disposable attitude of the industry. For that reason he decided to further his training by working for a Bosch main agent where he picked up many skills diagnosing and rectifying these complex faults. Later that year he was presented with the college apprentiship award for vehicle maintenance and repair..

By 2005 Kristian had come to realise that professional diagnostics should be more accessible both to independant garages and to the general public, so he set up a mobile diagnostic unit - Southern Auto Problem Solutions. Initally Southern Auto Problem Solutions offered mechanical diesel and auto electrical diagnosis and repair whilst building up the tools and equipment required to diagnose and repair complex petrol and diesel engine management systems. Over time as the list of equipment and therefore services began to grow Southern Auto Problem Solutions ceased to offer mechanical diesel services, allowing more time to concentrate on the diagnosis of not only engine management systems but automatic gearboxes, ABS, immobilisers, digital dashboards and pretty much every other electronic component on the vehicle.
